Selco systems - Aids to navigation

The name Selco has been synonymous with navigational aids for over 40 years. Manufactured by SelcoTek these products have been delivered to lighthouse and harbour authorities, scientific institutions and offshore enterprises throughout the world.
The products are made of modern materials such as GRP (Glassfibre reinforced polyester) and various core materials.

Advantages

  • Weight for weight glassfibre reinforced polyester is superior in strenght to steel.
  • Strength/weight ratio permits a higher buoyancy to be achieved thus resulting in lower body depth. In turn this reduces water drag with a consequent saving in size and cost of moorings.
  • When required, complex buoy configurations are readily formed in reinforced plastics and foam composites.
  • Foam filled, therefore unsinkable.
  • Low weight facilitates handling and transport.
  • Composites do not corrode.
  • Radar reflectors give clear echoes in all positions.
  • Colour coding and day marks comply to International IALA system A.
